Nominator's project description
| Dr. Eva Stoger is an expert in the field of Cereal Biotechnology with emphasis on Molecular Farming. In 1999, Dr. Stoger received the renowned French research award "Golden Grain" for her work on the production of recombinant pharmaceutical proteins in plants. Her future scientific work supported by the AvH through the "Sofja Kovalevskaja-Award" aims at the elucidation of fundamental aspects involved in deposition and stabilization of recombinant proteins in crop plants. A major focus will involve the utilisation of cereals as bioreactors for the low cost production of pathogen-free pharmaceutical proteins for application in human and animal health. |
